Here you will find an insight into weddings that we have conceptualised, planned and accompanied - or that show examples of how we work. It's not just about pretty pictures, but about concepts, decisions, real challenges and solutions that work. Some of these stories show what is possible, others tell you what it took to make it look like it was all of a piece.
Note: This is only an excerpt of our weddings - we are not allowed to publish many of them for reasons of discretion (NDAs).
The bride wanted elegance with a modern twist - not a pure 1920s party, but a touch of Gatsby vibes. The guests were dressed in style, with lots of gold, dark colours and candlelight setting the tone.
The Pera Palace provided the perfect setting: historic and elegant without being stiff. It was important to the bride and groom that the atmosphere remained relaxed - jazz for the reception, a relaxed dinner and later a party that was simply fun without being over the top.

The two didn't want to wait a year. „We want to get married - and soon.“ No sooner said than done: five months until the wedding, but of course without compromising on quality.
Quote from the bride B: „I want people to come in and just say wow.“
The bride and groom wanted a location for their single day wedding that was directly on the Bosphorus and had a view of one of the bridges.
The live acts! From the very first second: harpist at the (civil) wedding ceremony in the location, flute & sax at the champagne reception, the pianist at dinner and the band at the party!
The majority of the guests came from Switzerland, but there were also around 30 from Turkey, 17 from England and 8 from New York.

„We don't want a theme party that's somehow cringeworthy, we just want everything to be so real that we and all our guests feel like we're in a film“ - were A's words in our first conversation... They were still unsure whether it should really be a themed wedding - but in the end they decided to get married!
The quickest location search we've ever had: M&A fell in love with Turkey's first electric lift from 1895 - and then decided straight away in favour of the Pera Palace.
I don't think I need to say much: we were all part of The Great Gatsby - from the music to the setting... The only thing that wasn't Gatsby-esque was the atmosphere - absolutely exuberant and escalating without kitsch and stuffiness.
EVERY guest adhered to the dress code without exception, even though the dress code was the most elaborate we've ever had. The guests were simply part of the setting and the design.
We simply had enough of the classic wedding concepts that always follow a straight line. This shoot at the Château de Varennes in the south of France shows how to create something completely new from a historic location with modern elements - a look that doesn't exist yet.
No classic old money, no 08/15 modern all-white wedding. Instead, bold statements: the colour blue in the floristry, the unusual placement of the table lamps, the interplay of rattan and old gold - it's anything but conventional, but it works. Because in the end everything comes together so harmoniously that it creates a completely independent, unique concept.

This kind of wedding design suits you if you like the mix of modern & historical charm and are a bit daring. Quite old money - but with lots of modern elements, such as the loose floristry with blue accents, the rattan details and the parasols & electric table lamps plus the old gold candlesticks.
The Chateau de Varennes is one of the top 10 wedding venues according to CNN - up to 44 guests can stay overnight and up to 120 guests can celebrate here. And one thing is certain: this is a location that sets no limits in terms of style; the minimalist chateau look means that a wide variety of wedding designs can be realised here. From „Classy Romance“ to „Old Money“ to „Vogue Design“. Absolute It-Venue!
Details! Have you noticed that the table plan shows the shape of the tables and therefore the exact seating position of each guest? That artichokes are part of the table setting? That the plates are personalised with the guests' names? That both the tables in the dinner setting and the chairs in the wedding setting are undulating?
Istanbul is the supreme discipline when it comes to getting all guests to the same place at the same time. It even plays a role at which airport the guests arrive. Why? Because the journey via one airport necessarily leads over the bridge and then through the most chaotic part of Istanbul - especially on a Saturday (luckily none of Istanbul's football clubs were playing). It was therefore incredibly important to take the guests by the hand: When are they travelling? Friday? Or Saturday? It was important to set up allotments in hotels that were north of the location and not south - so as not to risk traffic jams on the wedding day.

It was particularly important to I & D to create something that wasn't off the peg. Especially because both they themselves and many of the guests are often at weddings and somehow can no longer see the classics. „Can we bring in blue, for example? Or black?“ - We did!
The bride and groom had already been to a wedding at this location and had known for a long time that they wanted to get married here. So the location was already fixed.
The wedding ceremony! The setting was completely different - no chairs, just poufs. In addition, the couple's 5-year-old son contributed a small & absolutely emotional part to the wedding ceremony - without the bridal couple knowing anything about it beforehand.
Guest management was more important here than ever before - the fewest guests came from Istanbul. Around a third of them travelled from other cities in Turkey and the rest from the USA - 2 guests even came from Australia.
Who says weddings always have to be bright and white? The bride and groom were certain that they wanted to get married on their 10th anniversary, in February - and in a way that not everyone has married before. The result? A wedding in Istanbul's centuries-old water reservoirs with a ceiling height of more than 9 metres, fabric installations, chandeliers and lots of candles - oh and: No flowers - just candles!

E & A wanted to play a lot with light - which makes perfect sense given the mood of the location. Not necessarily floristry - mainly light & candles.
We worked with both candles and chandeliers to create this intimate atmosphere. The candles came in all different sizes - from stick candles to block candles. And the rest? Very minimalist in black.
The setting! A wedding in a completely different setting - can you imagine what the fire show looked like after the cake cutting? That absolutely rounded off the whole thing.
There were no guests from abroad at this wedding - all the guests travelled either from Istanbul or other cities in Turkey.
For a long time, they weren't sure where to go on their trip. Italy or Croatia? Sun, sea, Mediterranean lifestyle - both fit the bill. But something was missing.
Lisa described it quite aptly at some point: „I imagine our wedding to be like a Chanel campaign. Elegant, clear, timeless.“
After a holiday in Croatia, I briefly thought about getting married there after all. The sea, the atmosphere - it had something. But the deeper we got into the location search, the clearer it became: What they actually wanted didn't feel right there.
So we listened. Listened carefully. And built a location trip out of it that was not about mass, but about match. A little later it was clear: it was Italy right from the start. It just had to be the right place - one that carried this feeling of elegance without being loud. And this is the location it turned out to be: Villa del Balbianello on Lake Como in Italy.
This location is also a classic on Lake Como. Fun fact: the bride and groom only wanted to visit this location - no other. And after the first viewing (in the rain!!) it was clear: this was the one! „If it hadn't worked out, we would have kept looking, but this is exactly what we want - and that's why we don't want to let other locations mess us up.“
Incidentally, during our scouting in Como I stayed at Villa Teodolinda next to Villa Vittoria, which is also a wedding location & not even they wanted to see it. And so Villa Vittoria was officially approved - it's the dream location. Well then - I booked the tasting in the location for the evening!
Selina & Salim were worried that they wouldn't find a suitable location in Turkey for what they had planned for their wedding: 4 days with their 55 guests in a location that could accommodate everyone. Either with a beautiful view of the mountains or the water. But what do they think of looking down on the sea in the middle of the mountains? Small spoiler: they decided in favour of exactly this location. And now it's time to get down to business: the highlights, because the two of them don't want boredom to set in for 4 days!
A get-together on a tennis court? Yes! And I can already tell you something that will remain a secret for the guests until the very end: Semiha & Stefan will not be there when the guests get together. About 10 minutes later, we will play a welcome video of the two of them on an open-air cinema screen, in which they will drop, among other things, that there will be a match between Semiha & Stefan NOW. They will ask the guests to guess who will win and assign themselves to either Team Bride or Team Groom & then the two will walk in with cheers & cold sparklers. It's a vibe!!!
Kristina & Filip are currently having their villa with a view of the sea and the harbour in Sanremo built. This is exactly where they would like to get married - in their own villa on the hillside overlooking the water. We have already seen the construction plans and illustrations and will be checking with K&F in Sanremo in July to see if the outdoor space of the villa is sufficient. Since the gradients of the green areas are not yet 100% clear, the building plans are unfortunately of no use to us at the moment, because: We just need space for the wedding! Alternatively, the two of them have already chosen other locations in Sanremo from those we have presented to them, which we will visit together: And I'm already so excited to see whether it will be their own villa or another location!
Semiha & Stefan wanted a two-night wedding in a location where they could accommodate and celebrate with all of their 75 guests. After the location presentation, they fell in love with Villa Lale so much that they didn't want to look at any other locations. And the highlights? Harp, sax, flute, right on the lake, open air, free wedding ceremony with Andrijana from love.stories... We are very happy!
