Kristina and Filip from Vienna wanted to marry on the Italian Riviera – with a concept uncompromisingly built around a single colour. The result was a weekend in Sanremo: three events in two locations, 140 guests and 54 vendors, all brought together into one seamless whole.
What looks effortless was one of the most logistically demanding projects we have ever delivered. Which is exactly why we are telling the story of this wedding in a little more detail.

Mavi is the Turkish word for blue; ma vie means my life in French. Inspired by the iconic Dior blue and the classic toile de Jouy pattern that Dior has reinterpreted time and again, we created a concept for Kristina and Filip carried by a single shade.
The magic lay in the contrast: vintage elements such as more than 60 custom-made velvet table lamps and toile de Jouy met clean, modern chairs and a pared-back table setting. Add to that around 800 metres of fabric in flowing drapes – blue not as decoration, but as a space to move through.
From the very first envelope to the last dessert plate, the same signature runs through everything: stationery in toile de Jouy, blue-and-white porcelain, fringed velvet lamps and a seating plan that flows across the wall as a length of fabric.

For this concept, the Italian rental market simply had no suitable furniture. Every off-the-shelf solution would have meant compromising the idea piece by piece. So we took the harder route: almost every piece of furniture we needed was custom-made in Turkey.

Instead of adapting the concept to the market, we adapted the market to the concept.
A 40-tonne truck brought the entire load to Italy by sea – including customs declaration and clearance. But the streets of Sanremo are narrow, far too narrow for an articulated lorry. So up by the motorway, everything was transferred onto five small vans.
Two locations, three days and a distinct setting for every event: each day we built up and took down again, so the next scene was ready by the following morning – without the guests noticing a thing.
The couple’s villa
Arrive, breathe, come together: the weekend began at the couple’s own villa – with pizza fresh from the oven, a long summer evening and everyone who would be there the next day.

Ceremony in the garden of the couple’s villa
Deep-blue velvet stools, clouds of hydrangeas and heavy drapes silhouetted against the sky above Sanremo: the ceremony took place in the couple’s private garden – with views all the way to the sea.

Villa Ormond, Sanremo
In the evening, the grand entrance: the historic Villa Ormond, its sweeping staircase and garden were transformed into one single blue scene. A curving table for 140 guests, built especially for this concept, lamps hanging in the trees and hydrangeas on every step.

The finale
One last day under the Italian sun: blue-and-white pool rings, toile de Jouy towels and an arch that picked up the concept once more – light, summery and just as considered as the night before.

Three days of Sanremo in just a few minutes – the teaser for the weekend.
