Dreaming of a destination wedding with sea views, luxury hotels and an experience your guests will talk about for years – but Italy feels too crowded, too booked up or simply seen too often? Then let’s talk about Turkey.

Getting married in Turkey is one of the most exciting destination wedding topics right now. More and more couples from Russia, Dubai, India, Lebanon, the US, Canada, England and Australia are celebrating their luxury wedding here – and for good reason. As wedding planners for Italy and Turkey, we’ll show you what you need to know: the most beautiful regions, the best time of year, honest budgets and why design makes all the difference here. Let’s dive in!

Getting Married in Turkey: Why International Couples Choose It

Real talk: Turkey has everything a destination wedding needs – and a few things you won’t find like this anywhere else.

  • Perfectly connected: Istanbul is one of the biggest hubs in the world. With Turkish Airlines, your guests fly in directly from Dubai, Mumbai, Beirut, London, New York or Toronto – and from Australia with just one stop.
  • World-class luxury hotels: from Belle Époque resorts to beach clubs and cave hotels.
  • Experience, not just a venue: boat trips, hot air balloons at sunrise, yacht parties in the Aegean.
  • Hospitality: service isn’t a buzzword here, it’s culture.
  • Entry: easy for many nationalities, visa-free or with an e-visa – we check this for your guest list.

The Most Beautiful Regions for Your Wedding in Turkey

Turkey is huge – and every region has its own vibe. These are the five we recommend:

Istanbul

Skyline, palaces on the Bosphorus and hotels that feel like film sets. Our hidden gem: Princes’ Palace on Büyükada – an island without cars, overlooking the city. You’ll find more wedding venues in our article on our Wedding Planner Istanbul.

Bodrum

Pure holiday feeling: beach clubs, infinity pools, sunset dinners and yachts. We show you what a complete wedding weekend there looks like in our article on weddings in Bodrum – and for everyone who loves it extravagant, there’s Scorpios Bodrum.

Göcek

Similar to Bodrum, just quieter: turquoise bays, yachts and lots of nature. Dalaman Airport is close by – perfect for a wedding with a boat day afterwards.

Cappadocia

No sea, but a landscape like no other: fairy chimneys, cave hotels and hot air balloons at sunrise. Ideal for couples looking for a wedding with a real wow factor.

Alaçatı

Stone houses, boutique hotels, vineyards and Aegean flair – perfect for smaller, stylish weddings with a dolce vita feeling.

Best Time of Year: When Should You Get Married in Turkey?

The season depends a lot on the region:

  • Bodrum and Göcek: May to October
  • Istanbul: June to September
  • Cappadocia: June to September – October works too, but it’s risky and needs a really good plan B

The best weekends at the top venues book up fast – the earlier you enquire, the more choice you have.

Oriental Is Out: Why Design Is Everything in Turkey

Let’s be honest: many weddings in Turkey are very oriental and opulent – lots of gold, lots of glitter, lots of everything. That can be beautiful, but it’s not what most international couples who come to us are looking for.

Bringing the aesthetic standard you know from Italy to Turkey takes a real feel for design: the right colours, materials and proportions, florals that don’t look overloaded, and lighting that creates atmosphere instead of disco. That’s exactly our thing – Italian aesthetics, brought to life with the best vendors in Turkey.

A real advantage: custom-made furniture such as lounges, bars, DJ booths or stage elements can often be produced more affordably here than in Italy. That way your wedding gets a design that truly exists only once.

How Much Does a Luxury Wedding in Turkey Cost? The Biggest Budget Myths

Myth: “Everything is cheaper in Turkey”

Unfortunately not. Catering prices in luxury hotels are often even higher than at renowned venues in Italy. Overall, a high-end wedding in Turkey is rarely cheaper than elsewhere in Europe.

What you get for it

The difference lies elsewhere: for your budget you often get more – more design, more experience, more service. Custom-made elements, boats and special experiences for your guests are easier to make happen here than in many European destinations.

Why Istanbul is interesting budget-wise

In Bodrum, Göcek or Cappadocia, lighting and sound, décor and design on site are often very limited. That’s why a lot comes from Istanbul – including transport, team and accommodation. If you get married in Istanbul itself, you save exactly these logistics costs.

Our budget guidelines

For a wedding with around 80 guests, you should expect these figures:

  • from €100,000 – to achieve the standard we deliver at our weddings
  • from €120,000 – if you want to be especially flexible with your choice of venue
  • from €150,000 – if design, experience or photo and video are a big priority, or you’re planning 100 to 150 guests

How many days you celebrate also plays a role, of course. And: a budget is always just a guideline. Sometimes it can be done a little cheaper, sometimes expectations are so high that we need to approach the budget planning together more realistically. That’s exactly what we clarify in our free consultation.

Getting Married in a Civil Ceremony in Turkey – Is That Possible?

Yes. A civil wedding is also possible in Turkey. Which documents you need depends on your nationality – we’ll tell you what applies to you in our consultation. Many couples also opt for a symbolic ceremony on site and take care of the civil wedding at home.

Wedding Planner Turkey: Why You Need Someone on the Ground

Vendors you don’t know, logistics between airport, hotel and venue, guests from five countries – a wedding in Turkey isn’t something you plan on the side. As your wedding planner for Turkey, we know the venues, have trusted partners on site and speak German, English and Turkish. So you can focus on what matters: your day.
