Tamara and Valbon got married at the Bürgenstock Resort, on a rocky ridge around 500 metres above Lake Lucerne. The lake below, the mountains opposite, and in between a place where people have been celebrating since 1873.
For us, the setting here was already half the decoration. So we arranged the tables so every guest could see the lake, and kept the design to dark, calm tones that don’t compete with the view.

Party with a DJ

The first Grand Hotel on the Bürgenstock opened in 1873, and the funicular down to the lake followed in 1888. Audrey Hepburn got married in the small Bürgenstock chapel in 1954.
Since reopening in 2017, the resort has three hotels with around 360 rooms and suites between them. The grounds are car-free, and for a wedding that means all your guests can stay on site and nobody has to drive anywhere after the party.

Dark tones, lots of greenery, the lake in the background

Dark linen, greenery instead of colourful flowers, and glassware that catches the light from the lake.

Terrace, stairs, garden: we didn’t have to walk far for the couple photos, the resort has plenty of corners that work without any decoration.

After dinner the DJ took over. From the first dance until late into the night, and the bride was on the dance floor almost the whole time.
