Cappadocia Wedding Cost: What a Destination Wedding in Cappadocia Really Costs

What does a wedding in Cappadocia really cost? Our guideline with a logistics surcharge, catering at the Museum Hotel, valley weddings from approx. €300,000, a budget calculator and an example calculation.

As a wedding planner in Cappadocia, we at Kaipo Weddings hear it in almost every first call: “So… what does a wedding in Cappadocia actually cost?” Search for Cappadocia wedding cost and you will find balloon prices for tourists and photo shoot packages, but hardly any figures for a real destination wedding in Cappadocia. And those figures are higher than many people expect.

Real talk up front: Cappadocia tends to be more expensive than Istanbul or Bodrum, especially if you want to hold the whole wedding outdoors in nature, in the middle of a valley. The reason is almost always logistics. So here you get a budget calculator, our guideline with the surcharges that only really exist in Cappadocia, an example calculation at the Museum Hotel and a second one for a wedding outdoors in a valley. No sugar-coating.

In shortOur guideline for high-end weddings in Cappadocia: the wedding day starts at approx. €1,000 per person, with a minimum of approx. €80,000. But that only applies in the simplest hotel setting. On top comes a logistics surcharge, because rentals, design and technical production travel in from Istanbul: we plan on approx. €12,000 for the truck and suppliers' flights plus approx. €60 per person for shuttles. At the Museum Hotel, catering alone is approx. €500 per person including the after-party. If you hold the whole wedding outdoors in the middle of a valley, you start at approx. €300,000. The wedding planner fee is not included in any of these figures.

Calculate your Cappadocia wedding cost: our budget calculator

Set the guest count and venue category, choose a single event or a wedding weekend with add-ons, and pick the level that suits you for each line. The figures come from our weddings in Turkey. The flat logistics figure from Istanbul, the shuttles, brunch and wine tasting are assumed guide figures for Cappadocia. The calculator deliberately leaves the balloon flight out: it is priced per basket, and the price is only available on request.

Have a play with it. You will quickly see what moves the budget in Cappadocia: the venue category, catering, design and technical production. For the wedding day, the calculator always takes the higher figure, either the sum of your lines or the minimum budget of the category. Logistics and shuttles then come on top, because in Cappadocia they apply whatever the venue. Switch to outdoors and the wedding day jumps to at least approx. €300,000, however you set the lines below it.

How much does a wedding in Cappadocia cost?

The honest answer: more than most people think, and it depends on your priorities. Two couples with the same guest count can end up with completely different budgets in Cappadocia, depending on whether you celebrate at a hotel or out in the landscape, how much has to travel in from Istanbul and how many events you plan.

Our couples celebrate with very different guest counts, from intimate weddings to several hundred guests. In Cappadocia, though, smaller groups are often the better fit, simply because the cave hotels only have a few rooms. Before we get into the detail, here is the rough guideline as a starting point.

Our guideline: the wedding day plus add-ons

The wedding day sits at the centre. At the high end we plan on approx. €1,000 per person for it, covering venue, catering, design, music, photo and video, spread across your guests. We always count photographers and videographers entirely towards the wedding-day budget, even if they also cover the get-together or the day after.

That only scales down to a point. Photo, video, music and entertainment cost roughly the same whether 40 or 100 guests come. So at the high end, the wedding day comes to at least approx. €80,000. In Cappadocia, though, that minimum only applies in the simplest hotel setting. Rentals, design, florals and, above a certain standard, lighting and sound almost always add a logistics surcharge, because all of it travels in from Istanbul.

And then there is the wedding many couples come to Cappadocia for in the first place: entirely outdoors, in the middle of a valley. That is the most expensive option, and we plan on approx. €300,000 upwards for the wedding day. And once more, because it often gets lost: the wedding planner fee is not included in any of these amounts.

Minimum budgets and surcharges in Cappadocia (excluding the wedding planner fee):

Wedding day at a hotel, simplest settingfrom approx. €80,000
Logistics from Istanbul: truck, flights for suppliers (assumption)approx. €12,000
Shuttles and transfers (assumption)approx. €60 pp
Wedding day entirely outdoors in the middle of a valleyfrom approx. €300,000
Wedding planner feenot included

Every additional event is not a second full wedding day but an add-on:

  • Welcome event or get-together: approx. €150–350 per person. A barbecue in the hotel courtyard sits towards the lower end, an exclusive dinner with its own design well above.
  • The day after: after-wedding brunch from approx. €80 per person, a wine tasting or dinner at a winery approx. €150 per person. Both are assumed guide figures for Cappadocia.
  • Sunrise balloon experience: charged per basket, with the price only available on request and for a specific date. That is why the calculator shows no figure for it.
  • Shuttles: elsewhere in Turkey approx. €40 per person, in Cappadocia we plan on approx. €60. The airports are further away and your guests are often spread across several hotels.
from €1,000 ppWedding day
from €80,000only in the simplest hotel setting
approx. €500 ppCatering at the Museum Hotel incl. after-party
from €300,000Wedding in the middle of a valley

A quick guideline check with 60 guests at a hotel, just the wedding day as a single event:

Wedding day (60 × €1,000 = €60,000, the minimum applies)approx. €80,000
Logistics from Istanbul (assumption)approx. €12,000
Shuttles (60 × €60)approx. €3,600
Starting point (excluding the wedding planner fee)approx. €95,600

That is the entry point, not the norm. At the Museum Hotel, catering alone already comes to approx. €30,000 with 60 guests. With the default settings, meaning Museum Hotel catering, mid levels for photo, video and DJ, a get-together and a brunch, the budget calculator above lands at around €132,000. Further down we break that down line by line.

What none of our budgets and no figure in this article include: the wedding planner fee. Also left out are your guests' flights, their hotel rooms, the dress, the suit, rings and shoes.

How does the budget change with more guests?

There is no fixed upper limit per head. With more guests the total budget rises, but the budget per head tends to fall, because fixed costs such as photo, video, technical production and the flat logistics figure are spread across more people. In Cappadocia there is another limit that has nothing to do with money: rooms. Beyond a certain guest count you need several hotels or a large property such as Fortuna of Cappadocia, and for the celebration a venue such as Avantgarde Refined Caves, where large weddings are possible too.

Why Cappadocia costs more in logistics

Many couples expect a wedding in Central Anatolia to cost less than one by the sea or in the big city. That may be true for individual lines. Not overall, because almost everything a high-end wedding needs has to be brought to Cappadocia first.

Truck and flights: everything that comes from Istanbul

In Cappadocia, rentals, design and florals usually come from Istanbul, and above a certain standard so do sound and lighting. The material travels by truck, the teams fly, and everyone needs hotel rooms. Locally, the choice at this level simply is not broad enough. In the calculator we use a flat approx. €12,000 for this. That is an assumption: the more design and the bigger the production, the higher this line gets.

Shuttles between cave hotels and valleys

The most beautiful properties in the region are small. Argos in Cappadocia spreads across several historic mansions in Uçhisar, Millstone Cave Suites is intimate by design, and the Museum Hotel is a Relais & Châteaux with suites in former caves. With 60 guests, one property is often not enough. Then you spread your guests across two or three hotels and need shuttles to every event, and certainly to a ceremony in the valley. One exception is Fortuna of Cappadocia, with 125 rooms and suites plus 28 villas.

Then there is the journey. Cappadocia has two airports, Kayseri (ASR) and Nevşehir (NAV). Hardly any international flights go there directly, so your guests almost always change in Istanbul. From Nevşehir it is approx. 45 minutes to Uçhisar or Göreme, from Kayseri approx. 1 hour to 1 hour 15. When guests from several countries land at different times, that quickly turns into a whole day of shuttles. In the calculator we use approx. €60 per person, and that is an assumption too.

Balloon mornings: early, weather-dependent, with a plan B

If you want to experience the balloons, you get up before sunrise. That means pick-ups at several hotels in the middle of the night, a team to coordinate it, and often a second morning in reserve in case the wind does not play along. These are shuttles too, and they are not in any hotel quote.

By comparison: Istanbul and Bodrum

In Istanbul, the big companies for sound, lighting, decor and production are based in the city itself, so transport and overnight stays for the teams largely fall away. Your guests can fly there direct from almost every country. What a wedding there costs, and where Istanbul is more expensive instead, is in How much does a wedding in Istanbul cost?.

Bodrum has the same basic problem as Cappadocia: a lot has to be delivered there too. In return, there are direct summer flights from many European cities, and large resorts make it easier to keep your guests under one roof. The figures for the Aegean are in How much does a wedding in Bodrum cost?. In Cappadocia, deliveries come on top of small hotels, a domestic flight for almost every guest and venues in the middle of the landscape.

What drives the cost of a destination wedding in Cappadocia?

Hotel or outdoors: Museum Hotel, Argos or a valley

The less expensive option is a wedding at a hotel. The Museum Hotel, the only Relais & Châteaux in the region, sits high up in Uçhisar with panoramic views over the valleys. Argos in Cappadocia is set in a former monastery, with Bezirhane, an old church, for the ceremony or dinner. Uçhisar is the highest point in the region, and if you want exactly that view, you pay for it.

The most expensive option is a wedding entirely outdoors, in the middle of a valley. There is nothing there. Furniture, bar, stage, lighting, power, catering infrastructure and a plan B for wind and cold all have to be brought in and built, much of it from Istanbul. That is why we plan on approx. €300,000 upwards. A middle ground many couples choose: the ceremony in the valley, dinner at the venue.

For context, here are the rough budgets for the wedding day, each excluding the wedding planner fee:

BCeremony outdoors, dinner at the venueValley ceremony, celebration at the hotelguideline from approx. €1,000 pp plus logisticsA popular middle ground

Catering: approx. €500 per person at the Museum Hotel

At the Museum Hotel, catering comes to approx. €500 per person, including the after-party. With 60 guests that is around €30,000, just for food and drinks. That is why it is the default level in the calculator.

Tables, chairs and other rentals in Cappadocia often come from Istanbul. That is already factored into our budgets. And as everywhere in Turkey, alcohol is the big lever: imported alcohol is taxed very heavily, local drinks are considerably cheaper.

Lighting and sound: the standard at which it comes from Istanbul

Basic lighting and sound packages start at approx. €2,500. With more light, more sound or a band you are at approx. €6,000 to €7,000. Projections, 3D mapping and truly high-end lighting cost approx. €25,000 to €30,000. At that level at the latest, the equipment and team come from Istanbul, with truck, flights and overnight stays. Outdoors in a valley, the power supply comes on top.

Design: high-end, luxury detailed or fully customised?

In the calculator we distinguish three design levels. High-end design is clean and pared back. Luxury detailed design does not simply mean more, but a less minimalist style with lots of customisation in furniture, bar and details. Fully customised high luxury design is made entirely to measure. In Cappadocia, the landscape often does half the work. In return, every piece of design you want has to travel in first.

Balloons: what you need to know before planning

The balloons are why many couples think of Cappadocia in the first place. Whether they fly is decided by the wind, not by you and not by us. The balloons take off early in the morning at sunrise, and if conditions are not right, the flight is cancelled. So never plan your only big moment for one particular morning.

  • Private basket: if you want to fly alone as a couple or with your closest family, you book a private basket. It is charged per basket, not per person, and the price is only available on request, depending on the operator, basket size and season.
  • Balloon flight for guests: for larger groups, several baskets are booked, usually with a hotel pick-up long before sunrise.
  • Balloon shoot from the ground: many of the pictures you know are not taken in the basket at all but below it, on a hill, a terrace or on horseback while the balloons rise. That works even if you do not fly yourselves.
  • Plan B: put the balloon morning on a day before the wedding and keep a second morning free. If the first is cancelled, you still have a chance.

Wine country, Uçhisar and experiences

Wine has been grown in Cappadocia since antiquity. A wine tasting or dinner at a winery the day after is one of the loveliest formats we know: relaxed, regional, and your guests get one more evening together after the wedding. In the calculator we use approx. €150 per person for it, as an assumption. On top of that there are pottery classes in Avanos, yoga under the balloons or a sunset dinner in a valley.

Each of these experiences is its own line with transfer, guide, catering and often decor. Manageable on their own, a noticeable part of the budget in total. Our tip: two really good experiences beat five half-hearted ones.

The season: when Cappadocia works

For a wedding in Cappadocia we recommend April to June and September to October. Summer days are very hot, there can be snow in winter, and the evenings are cool even in autumn. October works, Melissa and Andrés married at the end of October, but only with a covered plan B and patio heaters in the budget. Spring and autumn are also the cave hotels' high season and the best time for the balloons. So you are more likely to save with one event fewer or locally booked photo and video than with the date.

What was Melissa & Andrés's wedding in Cappadocia like?

What these lines feel like in real life shows in the wedding of Melissa & Andrés. The two are Colombian, live in the US, and their guests travelled to Cappadocia from seven countries. They celebrated in October 2026 at Avantgarde Refined, over three days:

  • Day 1, get-together: a small barbecue in the courtyard, between cave architecture and fire bowls.
  • Day 2, experience day: yoga in the garden and time for balloons, valleys and cave cities. For the couple, a sunrise shoot on horseback beneath the balloons.
  • Day 3, wedding: a ceremony in the middle of the valley with plum velvet poufs, clouds of blue hydrangeas and a string trio. Then dinner in the Signature Hall.

The design was curated like an art exhibition: purple and icy blue, mirrors, sculptures made of real flowers and five columns with stories about the couple. A kanun player performed at dinner, and the seating plan was a sandbox in which every guest had to dig out their own name. And the highlight was light: 3D mapping turned the Signature Hall into a galaxy, and later the film of the previous day's shoot was shown there.

Why are we telling you this? Because this wedding shows clearly where the budget goes in Cappadocia: into lighting and technical production that are not available locally, into experiences that only work here, and into a schedule that depends on the weather. We never give figures for individual weddings, and that includes this one.

Example calculation: a wedding weekend at the Museum Hotel with 60 guests

Important up front: we do not publish a real budget for Cappadocia. The examples here are calculations for orientation, not real weddings. First, a wedding weekend at the Museum Hotel with 60 guests, a get-together and a brunch, including logistics from Istanbul and shuttles. Then a wedding entirely outdoors in a valley. The wedding planner fee is not included in any of the examples.

Example calculation: Museum Hotel

Get-together on the first evening, the wedding at the Museum Hotel on day two, an after-wedding brunch the morning after. The levels match the calculator's default settings.

Catering at the Museum Hotel incl. after-party (60 × €500)approx. €30,000
Design & florals (high-end design)approx. €30,000
Photo and video (mid-class international)approx. €17,000
Lighting & sound and DJapprox. €11,500
Cake, celebrant and stylingapprox. €8,100
Get-together (60 × €250)approx. €15,000
After-wedding brunch (60 × €80, assumption)approx. €4,800
Logistics from Istanbul: truck, flights for suppliers (assumption)approx. €12,000
Shuttles and transfers (60 × €60, assumption)approx. €3,600
Wedding weekend total (example calculation, excluding the wedding planner fee)approx. €132,000

The wedding day alone comes to €96,600 here, above the €80,000 minimum, mainly because of the catering. Mathematically, you arrive at €132,000. Once more, very clearly: the wedding planner fee is not included here, and neither are flights, hotel rooms, outfits and rings. A balloon flight would come on top, per basket.

By comparison: a wedding outdoors in a valley

The same 60 guests, but the whole wedding outdoors, in the middle of a valley, as a single event. Here the wedding day starts at approx. €300,000, because everything has to be built on site. This is also a calculation for orientation, not a real wedding.

Wedding day in the middle of a valley (minimum budget)from approx. €300,000
Logistics from Istanbul (assumption)approx. €12,000
Shuttles (60 × €60, assumption)approx. €3,600
Outdoor wedding total (excluding the wedding planner fee)from approx. €316,000

All amounts are rounded. To say anything more precise about your budget, we need to know more about your ideas and wishes. Tell us what you have in mind in a free consultation ↗

What stands out in these examples

  • At the Museum Hotel, catering is the biggest single line on the wedding day. €500 per person pushes the day above the minimum even with 60 guests.
  • Logistics and shuttles together come to around €15,600. That sum does not appear like this in Istanbul.
  • Moving outdoors is the biggest lever in the whole budget: around €112,000 for a single event at the hotel with logistics and shuttles becomes approx. €316,000 or more.
  • A balloon flight is in neither example, because it is priced per basket and only on request.
  • The guests' hotel rooms are not in the budget. Guests usually pay for them themselves, and in Cappadocia they are often spread across several properties.
  • The wedding planner fee is deliberately missing from both examples. We explain why right below.

Why the wedding planner fee is not in this budget

For a wedding in Cappadocia, you absolutely need a wedding planner on your side who negotiates for you. Not for themselves. That sounds obvious, but it is not: suppliers often give the planner a price and tell them to put whatever they like on top and resell it.

That way the planner earns on the placement and resells the service to the couple with a mark-up. It eats your budget. In a region where logistics and shuttles already tie up a large share, there is then hardly anything left for design and experience. With the budgets in this article, you would not get far that way.

That is exactly why we have deliberately left the planner fee out here and only show the net budget, by the way also without the dress, suit and rings. Because this is what matters: a planner who goes into negotiations for you and gets the best possible price. You then pay the supplier the newly negotiated price directly, 1:1. More on this: How to find the right wedding planner in Cappadocia.

What hidden costs come with a wedding in Cappadocia?

These are the items that are in no first quote and that still almost always end up on the table in Cappadocia.

  • Room blocks and minimum stays: Cappadocia is in high demand with tourists in spring and autumn. If you want a room block for a weekend in May or September, book it early and expect minimum stays, often at several hotels at once.
  • Suppliers' travel costs: flights, hotel rooms and meals for teams from Istanbul or abroad. With a set-up over several days, it adds up quickly.
  • Plan B for weather and cold: a tent or an indoor space in reserve, patio heaters for cool evenings. Outdoors in a valley in particular, that is not an extra but a must.
  • The second balloon morning: if the flight is cancelled because of wind, you need a back-up date, another round of night-time shuttles and a team that gets up early.
  • Shuttles at unusual times: guests landing at different times in Kayseri and Nevşehir, rides back to several hotels after the after-party. Every extra run costs money.
  • Exchange rate: many high-end venues and suppliers price in euros, others in lira. Build in a buffer.

Where can you save on a wedding in Cappadocia?

Saving on a luxury wedding does not mean doing a little less everywhere. It means setting priorities: where should it be truly great, and where is good enough?

01Ceremony outdoors, celebration at the hotelThe whole wedding in a valley starts at approx. €300,000. If you only hold the ceremony out in the landscape and then celebrate at the venue, you get the backdrop for a fraction of that.
02Book locally what works locallyBasic lighting and sound, local photo and video teams: everything that does not have to travel in from Istanbul saves truck, flights and hotel nights. Mid-class instead of high-class international for photo and video alone saves €10,000 in the calculator.
03Fewer events, but stronger onesTwo really good days beat three half-hearted ones. A brunch instead of a winery dinner, or a get-together with just your inner circle, makes an immediate difference, and fewer events also means fewer shuttles.

What we do not recommend: saving on shuttles, the plan B or the buffer. In Cappadocia, plan on a 5 to 10% reserve for weather and logistics.

In Cappadocia you do not pay for glamour, you pay for logistics. Plan for that from the start and you get a backdrop no set in the world can recreate.Kaipo Weddings

A small group, lots of closeness

If you want to combine a tight budget, a long guest list and a celebration entirely outdoors, Cappadocia gets difficult. And if you want every minute of the weekend to be predictable, wind, cold and balloons that are only decided on the morning itself will be hard going.

Cappadocia is worth it for couples who want to show their guests something they have never seen before, and who are prepared to pay for logistics rather than glamour. Which venues are an option, we show in our wedding venues in Cappadocia.

FAQ: Cappadocia wedding cost and wedding planners in Cappadocia

How much does a wedding in Cappadocia with 60 guests cost?

As a starting point, we plan on approx. €1,000 per person for the wedding day, but at least approx. €80,000, and that only in the simplest hotel setting. In Cappadocia, logistics from Istanbul (assumption: approx. €12,000) and shuttles (approx. €60 pp) come on top. For 60 guests as a single event that is around €96,000. Our example calculation at the Museum Hotel, with catering at approx. €500 per person including the after-party, a get-together and a brunch, lands at around €132,000. If you celebrate entirely outdoors in the middle of a valley, you start at approx. €316,000. The wedding planner fee is not included in any of these figures.

How much does a small wedding in Cappadocia with 30 guests cost?

At the high end, the minimum of approx. €80,000 for the wedding day applies even with few guests, because photo, video, music and technical production cost almost the same whether 30 or 80 people come. With logistics and shuttles, 30 guests as a single event come to around €95,000, and as a wedding weekend with a get-together and a brunch to around €105,000 according to the calculator. That works out at over €3,000 per head. On the other hand, Cappadocia suits small groups well: often a single cave hotel is enough for everyone. The wedding planner fee is not included here either.

How much does a destination wedding in Cappadocia with 100 guests cost?

With the calculator's default settings, meaning hotel, Museum Hotel catering, get-together, brunch, logistics and shuttles, 100 guests land at around €175,000. By the pure guideline it would be approx. €100,000 for the wedding day plus add-ons, but catering at the Museum Hotel alone already comes to approx. €50,000 with 100 guests. At this guest count you usually spread your guests across several hotels, so the shuttles matter even more. Entirely outdoors, the wedding day starts at approx. €300,000. The wedding planner fee comes on top in every case.

How much does a wedding in the middle of a valley cost?

If the whole wedding is to take place outdoors in nature, we plan on approx. €300,000 upwards for the wedding day. In the middle of a valley there is nothing: furniture, bar, stage, lighting, power, catering infrastructure and a plan B for wind and cold are brought in and built, much of it from Istanbul. Logistics, shuttles and further events come on top; with 60 guests as a single event you are at approx. €316,000 or more. The middle ground is less expensive: the ceremony in the valley, dinner at the venue. The wedding planner fee is not included.

How much does a balloon flight cost at a wedding in Cappadocia?

We deliberately do not give a fixed figure here. Balloon flights are charged per basket, and the price is only available on request, depending on the operator, basket size, season and date. That is why our budget calculator does not include the sunrise balloon experience either. Important: whether you fly is decided by the wind on the morning itself. The balloons take off before sunrise, and if conditions are not right, the flight is cancelled. So plan a back-up morning and schedule the balloon for a day before the wedding.

How much does an Indian wedding in Cappadocia cost?

An Indian wedding usually runs over several days and three to four events: Mehndi or Haldi, Sangeet, Baraat and Pheras, Reception, often with 200 to 500 guests. In Cappadocia that is more demanding than elsewhere, because the cave hotels only have a few rooms and almost everything travels in from Istanbul. It is possible with a combination of a large hotel and a venue, for example Fortuna of Cappadocia for the guests and Avantgarde Refined Caves, where large weddings are possible too, for the celebrations. As a rough orientation from our model: for the main day we plan on approx. €1,000 per person upwards, every further event comes on top as an add-on, plus considerably more logistics and shuttles than for a small wedding. With 300 guests you land at roughly €400,000–500,000 and upwards. Then there are the mandap and permits for the fire, Indian chefs and vegetarian or Jain catering. We plan weddings with several hundred guests. For very large Indian weddings, Istanbul and Bodrum play to their strengths: large ballrooms and resorts, many rooms under one roof and suppliers closer at hand. The wedding planner fee comes on top.

How much does a wedding planner in Cappadocia cost?

We deliberately do not give a fixed figure here, because it depends on the guest count, the number of events and the workload. More important than the amount is the model behind it. Some planners work on commission: the supplier quotes a price, the planner adds something on top and resells it, and you never see what the service really costs. With a transparent fee, you pay the planner to negotiate for you, and you pay the suppliers directly, 1:1, at the negotiated price. That is how we work as a wedding planner in Cappadocia. Ask every planner you talk to whether they receive commission from suppliers.

What is included in this budget and what is not?

Above all, the wedding planner fee is not included, in no figure in this article and not in the budget calculator either. Also not included: the dress, suit, rings, shoes, your guests' flights and their hotel rooms, which guests usually pay for themselves, and a balloon flight, which is priced per basket on request. Included is everything that makes up the wedding on the ground: venue, catering and drinks, rentals such as tables and chairs, decor and florals, photo and video, music, lighting and sound, celebrant, cake, styling, logistics from Istanbul as well as shuttles and transfers.

Which costs do couples from the UK and the US most often underestimate in Cappadocia?

Five above all. The journey: hardly any international flights go directly to Kayseri or Nevşehir, so almost all guests change in Istanbul. The shuttles: guests are spread across several cave hotels, and every event, every valley ceremony and every balloon morning needs transfers, so plan on more like €60 per person. Logistics from Istanbul: rentals, design and higher-end technical production travel by truck, the teams by plane. Alcohol, because imported brands are taxed very heavily in Turkey. And the weather: patio heaters, a covered plan B and a back-up morning for the balloons belong in the budget.

Is Cappadocia more expensive than Istanbul or Bodrum?

Usually, yes. The guideline is the same: from approx. €1,000 per person for the wedding day, at least approx. €80,000. But in Cappadocia a logistics surcharge almost always comes on top, because rentals, design, florals and higher-end technical production travel in from Istanbul, and shuttles cost more because guests are spread across several small hotels. If you set the same levels in the Istanbul calculator and in ours, Cappadocia comes out around €13,000 higher with 70 guests, purely through logistics and shuttles. In Istanbul the suppliers are local, but the palace hotels tie up a lot of budget through minimum spends. A lot is delivered to Bodrum too, but there are large resorts and direct flights in summer. And if you celebrate entirely outdoors in a valley, the wedding day starts at approx. €300,000. All excluding the wedding planner fee.

How much does a get-together in Cappadocia cost?

We plan on approx. €150 to €350 per person, depending on the setting. A barbecue in the hotel courtyard sits towards the lower end, an exclusive dinner with its own design or at a winery well above. In our example calculation, the get-together for 60 guests comes to approx. €15,000, i.e. €250 per person. Shuttles between the hotels and the get-together venue come on top if your guests are staying at several properties.

When is the best time for a wedding in Cappadocia?

April to June, and September and October. Summer days are very hot, there can be snow in winter, and the evenings turn cool in autumn too. Spring and autumn are also the best time for the balloons and the cave hotels' high season, so you should block your rooms early. If you marry in October, you need a covered plan B and patio heaters in the budget.

Which airport is best for a wedding in Cappadocia?

Nevşehir (NAV) is closer to Uçhisar and Göreme, approx. 45 minutes. Kayseri (ASR) often has more connections, with a drive of approx. 1 hour to 1 hour 15. International guests almost always change in Istanbul. If your guests land at both airports, plan separate shuttles for each.

The bottom line: what will your destination wedding in Cappadocia cost?

A wedding in Cappadocia is not cheap, and usually more expensive than in Istanbul or Bodrum. But it is plannable if you factor in the Cappadocia-specific items from the start: logistics from Istanbul, shuttles, rooms in several hotels and a plan B for the weather. The budget calculator shows you what a hotel or a valley, catering and design cost, the example calculation shows where the money goes, and the hidden costs give you a checklist for every quote.
